About The Standard Practice
Vet. Test. Recommend.
We cut through the marketing to test what actually works — the brutal truth on the wellness products worth your money.
The Standard Practice was built on a frustration you probably share: wellness is drowning in noise. Every feed is full of miracle supplements, must-have devices, and confident claims with nothing behind them. We exist to cut through it and tell you the brutal truth about what actually works.
Our approach is deliberately unglamorous. We start with the evidence — what the research does and doesn't support — and we're honest when the science is thin. Then our editors test products the slow way, over weeks of genuine daily use, because a wellness product that only works in a testimonial isn't working at all.
We treat the reader like an adult. That means naming the trade-offs, flagging the marketing fluff, and saying plainly when a popular product is a waste of money. It also means we don't give medical advice or pretend to be your clinician — we test consumer products and report what we find, and we'll always tell you when a question belongs with a professional.
We're upfront about how the lights stay on. Some links earn us a commission and some articles are sponsored; in both cases we disclose it clearly and it never changes the verdict. A brand can pay to be reviewed, but it cannot buy a recommendation. If something doesn't hold up, we say so.
